WATERLESS URINALS FOR GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

These low cost waterless urinals are easy to construct, easy to use, require low maintenance and block urine smell. They are designed for use in government schools, and aid in bringing awareness about sanitation in students. These are built using recycled 20 litre water cans and are then connected to the drainage using PVC pipes, as can be seen below.
The working principle behind the waterless urinals is to shut off the air circulation in PVC pipes using a sealant, so that it blocks the urine smell from coming out.The plastic cans are also hydrophobic in nature, hence urine does not collect on their surfaces. In the image below, a plastic TT ball is used to block the drain pipe, to prevent smell.
